Thanks to mild climate, double cropping in spring and autumn is applied for potatoes in Hirado. Taking advantage of the soil condition of Hirado, which contain a lot of red soil, potatoes for a market such as May Queen, Dejima, and Nishiyutaka as well as seed potatoes are grown. Potato carefully raised in red soil has a smooth skin and is very delicious.
