Sevenband grouper, which belongs to Serranidae, lives in Niigata and to the south. Some reach a length of 1 m or more. It goes well with any dishes such as sashimi, fry, and cooked in soy sauce. In Hirado, it is caught mainly using fishing baskets. It is also called as “Takaba” and regarded as a prized fish.

A plump, gelatinous flesh is an excellent ingredient which goes well any recipes.
