Oysters in Hirado include pacific oysters and Japanese oysters. Pacific oysters in the winter are char-grilled to eat but Japanese oysters are eaten raw from early spring. Japanese oysters are still new which farming has started around 2009. Different from pacific oysters, they are farmed carefully in the sea full of mineral for two years.
